Family Matters

As close as I am with my family, we’d never so much as entertained the idea of going away together- until this year. And that’s exactly what we did. My sisters and I (along with our kids and husbands) booked a cozy cottage tucked away in a quaint little spot just 3 hours northeast of the city. We relaxed, we read, we laughed, we reminisced, and there may have been some drinks too! I can’t think of a better way to pass time than to be around the people I love most!

It’s been an amazing week, but a long one. This post will be short and sweet- enjoy!

Happy Trails!

      • Ahh. I love Haliburton. We went to a resort there when our daughter Laura was about a year old. We saw bear cubs in the parking lot. I remember Laura sitting in the back of the car saying “Teddies!!!!” I haven’t been there since.

I hear you about the long drive. I’ve never understood people who get in their cars every Friday and drive hours to a cottage only to turn around and drive hours home on Sunday. That is not something I would want to do every weekend after a stressful week at work. To each their own, I suppose.

  1. Beautiful photos. This is such a great idea!! I am glad you were able to have a nice time with your family. I love how you’re able to reconnect with them on such trips. My entire family used to do an annual trip together but haven’t been able to do one this year because of my grandfather’s health. Hopefully soon. *Fingers crossed*
