July Blogger Spotlight

Welcome to my series in which I spotlight one of my followers. I’ve always had a deep fascination with people: how they became who they are, the struggles they won, and the hard lessons they learned over time. All of these scars and stories make up a person’s life. While I think it’s important to reflect on your own journey, it is also equally important to hear other voices and see diverse perspectives. In this series, the spotlighted blogger will be able to tell their story through curated questions I’ve asked of them.

The blogger I chose to feature in this month’s spotlight is someone who I was introduced to from a previous blogger spotlight. One of the things I love about this series is the ability to get to know other bloggers within this infinite sphere of writers. She is a fellow Canadian (at birth and at heart), although, not by current location. Her patriotic loyalty to Canada pales in comparison to my own (as much as I am proud to be from here myself). She started her unique blog at the urge of her neighbor, as a way of “memorializing the people, places, and things I see on my daily walks.”

When I asked her if she would be interested in participating in this series, she quickly agreed and made herself available to me. From the moment we connected, she’s been nothing but lovely, thoughtful, and kind. I so appreciate her candor in the questions I’ve asked of her and she may have inspired me to start writing a post that I have been trying to write for a long time now (perhaps years).

June Blogger Spotlight

Welcome to my series in which I spotlight one of my followers. The blogger I wanted to spotlight in June is someone I aspire to be. She’s a crusader for living green. What does that mean? Well, she details it so beautifully on her blog. She “firmly believes that if everyone makes just a few small changes, we can have a positive impact on the planet, the people around us, and our own wellbeing.” Her simple-living ideas have helped many of her followers (including me) focus on what truly matters beyond the material goods we can acquire in life. She has a big voice and she’s not afraid to use it! And best of all, she’s a Canadian like me! Finally, a friend who understands me when I write about the colourful behaviour of my favourite neighbours in the centre who honour and favour this very bloug blog.

The blogger that I chose to spotlight for the month of May is the epitome of a strong, fearless, shameless, free spirit (or at least that’s the way I see her)! She has an unapologetic way of expressing her true self with confidence and I admire the heck out of that! Never afraid of speaking her truth, she tells it like it is and explores topics that many shy away from- and I love all of it!

I am delighted to announce that the blogger I chose to spotlight for the month of April is a mom and a published author. Her weekly posts (usually about her adventures in Jiu Jitsu training) are hilarious and thoroughly entertaining. She started her blog years ago telling stories about her motherhood journey, focusing on “the comedic aspect of child-raising.” She says, “No parent in their right mind would say bringing up children comes without its difficulties. But often the tragic moments become humorous over time and with new perspective.”

March Blogger Spotlight

The blogger I chose to spotlight for the month of March is someone who shares the same type of religious blogging schedule as I do. He posts weekly (on Tuesdays) come hell or high water. What strikes me about him is that he takes the time to engage with his readers through his own blog and also through his readers’ blogs. I find so much inspiration from him through his work and find his honesty refreshing. His blog is so relevant to me because he shares his real struggles and successes with his writing journey, and his writers’ work ethic is incredibly admirable!
